Mixteca Culture, was an Amerindian town of Mesoamerica of Otomangueana linguistic family that inhabited the present Mexican states of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Puebla, in the called Mixteca region. The Mixtec civilization flourished in southern Mexico between the centuries (XV-II BC) and came to an end in the early sixteenth century AD when Europeans landed in America. The Mixtecas were the most famous artisans of pre-Columbian Mexico, their works in stone and in different metals were never surpassed in the region.
