Prior to the american revolution, how were british views on political participation and representation different from those of the american colonists?

    Prior to the American Revolution, the British had a more limited view of participation and especially representation. England's economic policies served the interests of the British because Britain imposed taxation on American colonies without giving them the right of representation.
