    I believe that there are some benefits but also some consequences if a person could be tried twice for the same offense. For example, some criminals could be convicted the second time if they weren't convicted the first. On the other hand, an innocent person could be tried twice and fall under the stress, making them appear guilty and then leading to a conviction.
