    The cartridge incident revealed that the Britain has no regard whatsoever for the religious beliefs and the culture of the Indians.

    The Indian people believe that cow is sacred and they do not consume cow flesh. Despite knowing this fact, the Britain went ahead to manufacture gunpowder cartridges, which are greased with cow fat; the Indian soldiers had to open these cartridges using their mouth. The Indian soldiers find this very offenseful.
