    Reform the stock market--the stock market was a major cause to the Great Depression and FDR felt it needed to be watched.

    The securities act and exchange commission became the watchdog for the stock market. It made sure the companies were reporting accurate information and people were not buying stocks on margin (on credit). This regulation was meant to prevent a crash of the stock like 1929.
