    The Embargo Act of 1807 was an embargo of the United States Congress against Great Britain and France an act of commercial war. The act was made as a response to the two countries disrespect on US neutral military decision, seize American ships and forced American seamen to join the war. It was signed by President Thomas Jefferson last December 22, 1807. It made an impact on the economy of both Great Britain and France as well as the United States.
