    Many Americans were exposed to the ideas of the federalists by the "Federalist Papers". These papers, which consisted of a set of articles, were written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay, although they originally didn't publish these articles under there own name. The articles were published in journals across New York. The articles were later bundled and were called the "Federalist Papers".
