The bill of rights was adopted because the question 27 options: antifederalists demanded it as the price of ratification of the constitution. federalists realized that no constitution would last for long without a bill of rights. federal government in the early days of the republic was violating too many individual rights. supreme court ruled that a bill of rights was needed.

    Anti-federalists demanded it as the price of ratification of the Constitution. Anti-feds wanted a guarantee that their new government would not infringe upon their basic God given rights like the British did during their rule of the colonies.
