The Way to Rainy Mountain mixed his individual, ancestral, and ethnic stories about Indian Kiowa antiquity. Momaday posed his personal reminiscences of the culture of Kiowa and old-style ethnic stories to produce an imprint of the way of life of Kiowa that is both mystic and knowledgeable.
