A hyperbole is an exgrarrted statement. This is common in poetry, fairytales, and folklore because most of the times these stories are made to entertain and not be literal. Some Examples:

My garden is as big as a football field.

I am so hungry I could eat a horse

. I had a ton of chores to do.

    If I can't get a Smartphone, I will die.

Majorly exaggerating something like "I've been their like a million times" or something while normal exaggerating is like "I've been their a hundred times" or something to that extent.
