America lost the battle of the Alamo but it caused a realization of the people in Texas of what was happening. So one effect was it banded all the people together to fight they used the phrase "remember the Alamo". Also during the battle of Alamo the people in the battle wanted to annex Texas which made the president at the time (Polk) want to add Texas to the states (at the time he was pro-slavery and it could bring more slave territory in the us) so he sent his troops to take over.
