    They were a group of people organized by Joseph E. Brown, Major General John B. Gordon and Gen. Alfred H. Colquitt. They held senate seats and fought for Georgia to be reverted to how it was before the civil war. Of course they couldn't reinstate slavery, but they could find other ways to undermine rights of African Americans.
