In my AP World History class, we talked about how Alexander the Great spread Hellenism (Greek culture) around the Mediterranean and as far East as the border of India.

They spread new ideas about government, astronomy, philosophy, and in places like Egypt they had a heavy influence on some architectural projects (most notably the lighthouse in Alexandria). Additionally, they also spread drama/theatre and new ways of keeping historical accounts and documents.
