Why was Abraham an important figure in the Hebrew religion? What impact did he have on the Mesopotamian/Near East religious practices?

    1st question: Jews regard Abraham as the first Patriarch of the Jewish people. Abraham was the first person to teach the idea that there was only one god.

    2nd question: Because he presented the new idea that there was only one god (they believed in a ton of different gods.)
