How many years incorporate ancient rome's existence?

    Rome was founded in 753 BCE but the republic era didn't begin until 509 BCE. then it fell in 410 AD, but the last emperor (Romulus Augustus) didn't go down till 476 AD. Now, what was the most important era could be up for dispute.
