Read this statement again: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."     It is more true now because there are more freedom or unalienable rights today. An example of an unalienable right is the right to a jury trial for all races. The pursuit of happiness is another way that statement is more true today. For example, if you look around to the families and the African American people back then and compare how they feel today, you can see a large improvement. The last example is that the economy has been improving more and more to make it easier to live.
