    The correct answer is

    (C) It outlawed slavery north of 36º30’N in Louisiana Territory.

    This had to be made as a part of the compromise since Missouri wanted to enter. Maine was added as a state as well due to that. All other states didn't have slavery north of that degree except for Missouri. There were those who chose it with popular sovereignty.
