    The correct answer is in the southern and mid-Atlantic states

    It was succeeded by the Democratic party by those who followed Jackson later and you can still see how the support remained for the Democratic party in the mid-atlantic region even nowadays. The western you went the lower the support was, and the same went for Southern states which are nowadays republican but used to be heavily democratic.
