    In essence, the choice argued that as a slave Scott wasn't a citizen and will not sue during a judicature ... Taney also stated that Congress had no power to exclude slavery from the territories (thus invalidating the Missouri Compromise [1820]) which African Americans could never become U. S. citizens.
