The European medieval period ended due to many reasons.

    Explanation:

During the Middle age, the population of Europe increased as there was increase in technology and agricultural innovations were there which led to increase in trade. Thus, there was more food available for the people.

But there was decline of this period. One of the reasons was Black Death. It was an epidemic which destroyed Europe. It was a disease that was spread through contact with animals specially through fleas, lice and other rat parasites. This disease had wiped out quarter of the population of Europe. As a result of this, there was an effect on the economy and society. Harvest rotted and there was no cultivation on the fields.

Also, there was decline in the power of the Church over nation-states. There were conflicts between the papacy and the monarchy over political matters because of which people started losing faith in the Church. And there was decline of feudal system, in which land was exchanged for work. All these factors contributed to end of European Medieval period.
