    Role's of Maine's Supreme Court:

Maine's Supreme Court was established in the year 1820 after the separation from Massachusetts. Its a court of final appeal with 7 justice headed by a Chief Justice. The major focus of the court is to serve justice in case of Civil and Criminal actions. Usually the question of law is presented to the court when it is appealed from the trial court. The process continues with the written briefs and verbal arguments presented by the lawyers and parties. Finally the court issues a written opinion with a memorandum of decision as per court's view.
