Toussaint Louverture led enslaved people to overthrow the French and establish an independent country.

    Explanation:

Toussaint Louverture, previously a slave, led the slave revolution and Haiti Independence movement, won and became the General of Haiti. He created his own army of soldiers who were earlier enslaved and deserted from the Spanish, French and other Europeon Colonial Armies and wanted to gain freedom from the Europeon powers.

He trained his soldiers in guerilla warfare. Fearing slavery due to Napoleon Bonaparte's new constitution after he gained France, Toussiant started to rebel against Napoleon.

Even when Napolean tried to tempt Toussiant with various offers, Toussiant was not deterred and led the slaves, fought and invaded Santo Domingo and became its ruler and abolished slavery.

Toussaint Louverture changed his country's government by "leading enslaved people to overthrow the colonialists and establish an independent country".

    Option: D

    Explanation:

Former Haitian slave, Francois Toussaint Louverture organized the only effective slave rebellion in modern history. Fighting strenuously, he struggled to abolish slavery and achieve the freedom of Haiti from European powers, France and Spain. He became classified as "The Black Napoleon" to his contemporaries.

His acts set a sequence of international events in motion that transformed the landscape of the western hemisphere and marked the beginning of the end for European colonial supremacy in the Americas. Exasperated by a revolt he couldn't really manage in Hispaniola, Napoleon Bonaparte chose not to extend his power to North America and in 1803 surrendered the territory of Louisiana to the United States.
