Why were Russian Jews emigrating from Russia

    Well it might depend on the time period. However, if you're talking about WW2, then it would be because Russia used to be an ally of Germany (until they betrayed them). So they would send their Jews to the concentration camps in Germany. Honestly, it was better for Jews to leave basically all of Europe at that time.
