How did Roosevelt and Wilson differ in their beliefs about how the government should handle monopolies

    Roosevelt splitting up monopolies, whereas Wilson believed in negotiating with them. Roosevelt believed unions could regulate [monopolies], but Wilson argued that government regulation was a better option.

    President Roosevelt opposed the ban on monopolies, instead, he wanted the federal government to take power into its hands and assume regulation and supervision over all corporations that did interstate business.

    President Woodrow Wilson believed that the monopolies should be burst in the courts, he did not agree with the fact that Roosevelt wanted to regulate them. Wilson wanted to eliminate monopolies by reviving competitions making bank reforms and tariff reductions.
