    Water had to be fetched at a public fountain, so it makes sense that wealthy people made their slaves do this. There is proof in literature and physical evidence that wealthy houses had 5 or more slaves. The same applies to shops, taverns and cookshops which sold food.

    Temples were common in Roman cities and Pompeii had several for different gods, for example the Temple of Jupiter and Temple of Fortuna Augusta.
