    Option D. is the answer

    Explanation:

Japan waged a war against China. The Qing Dynasty of China suffered a major setback due to the well trained military forces of Japan. After Meiji restoration in Japan, His government sent many students and delegates to western countries to embark on the western culture and find methods to implement it in Japan, gradually Japan transformed from a feudal society to well-trained Military society.

Japanese assimilated the western industrialization practices and built their empire. Chinese adopted traditional practices of warfare, they were in shambles due to internal rebellion protests and they were hostile to adopt western culture, these imperfections made China fragile and its empire was ousted by the west.

Japanese nationalism was so powerful that apart from being a powerful ally in First World War they built a strong empire by adopting best practices from the west.
