One of the earliest civilizations were the Indus valley civilisation, the Mesopotamia civilization and the Chinese civilisation or the ancient Egypt. These all civilisations had settled near the rivers. The water of the river were the source of fishing and hunting for the people living in those regions of civilization. The water of the rivers also made the land fertile making it possible for the cultivaton and agriculture. This was possible for earning their livelihood and settling down easily and finding food for themselves.
