Americans were obsessed with heroes like Babe Ruth and Charles Lindbergh in the 1920s. Why did both men appeal to Americans at the time?

People like Babe Ruth, Amelia Earhart, and Charles Lindbergh turned into American heros of the 1920s because for the time the things they did were tremendous and allowed for many other Americans to pursue greatness in America.

These heroes brought on hope and enlightenment after horrific times that people went through during the 1920's. Men had their eyes on inspiring, strong, and successful other men. Both men became successful during the 20's. Baseball was very popular during this time and the star was Babe Ruth. For Lindbergh, other pilots had crossed the Atlantic Ocean before him. But Lindbergh was the first person to do it alone nonstop. Lindbergh's feat gained him immediate, international fame.
