What were two ways that the Industrial Revolution caused Europeans to look for new colonles?

    In the first place, a growing industry created an appetite for more and more raw materials and quantities that were not available at home in European countries. Secondly, industry and economic expansion created the need to explore, find and exploit new markets for the industrial goods being manufactured by European national economies. These two facts motivated European colonialism.
