    I don't think it was a good idea because of the consequences that followed. The treaty of Versailles was refused despite the efforts of then-president Wilson and the U. S failed to become a member of League of Nations. Secondly, declaring war on Germany was not justified because Germans have used the same policy in war zone for a long time and reason to break the isolationist stand seems to lie in the political and economic interest of the United States.
