Explain how the u. s. Constitution structures the government with checks and balances to keep any one branch from becoming too powerful

    Each branch of the governemnt "checks" certain things from another branch, meaning to get something done you'd need two branches to agree. If the president wants to spend a quadrillion on the military, the congress has to vote on it for example.
