Louis IV used divine right to establish his absolutism as a monarch. He considered himself to be the chosen one as a king and declared sun to be his symbol He is also called 'Sun king or Apollo king'. He thought that he is answerable only to God and no earthly being or any of the Three estates of the society can question him.

He also transformed an old hall into a grand palace and named it as Palace of Versailles which contained paintings of his life.

This served to be a strategy of propaganda where people believed that he is sent by God himself. With this right he expanded the French empire and spread Catholic Faith across France.
