    Explanation:

    The Tariff of Abominations was a protectionist tariff put in place to protect northern industries in USA as they could not match the price of the European manufactures.

    This harmed the south as they now had to pay more for the same imports from Europe.

    This also left the business of export to Britain very hard as the tariffs did not facilitate cotton business and instead focused on industrial production which was more in the North.
