    Explanation:

    During WW2 around 11 000 Japanese-Americans were relocated to California. Although this happened during the war it had a lot to do with prejudices towards Asian people that started in the second half of the 19th Century. Namely, even then Americans had prejudices towards the Chinese living and working in the United States.
