    Jefferson strongly believed in the seperation of the Church and State. Also, he thought that the seperation of powers is another important factor in an effective governing system. in hs own words it was stated by him "The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others."

    Moreover, he believed that the power of the government has to be limited.
