Which twentieth-century president am I?

I became president in 1929, a time when the U. S. had extremely good economic conditions, but problems began soon

after with the Great Depression. I had high hopes that the private sectors wopld be able to pull us out of the Depression;

instead, conditions grew worse, and I had to provide Federal aid to the nation. The toughest part of my presidency was

knowing that some citizens blamed me for the poor economic state of the country.
