With its origin in North America, the Amerindian peoples called Cherokee are one of the tribes of the native nation called Iroquois. Prior to the 16th century, they were located in the eastern United States, but were eventually expelled by whites to the Ozark Plateau, which is located between the Missouri and Arkansas rivers.

In the nearly ten years preceding it, the natives fought several times against the South Carolina settler government. Despite the title given to Moytoy, the emperor had no unlimited power over the tribe. Over time, leaders of other lineages emerged.

At the time of the American Revolution, also known as the United States War of Independence (1776-1783), several Cherokee Indians left for other counties, leaving their homelands because of violations of previously signed territory pacts. This was due to the intense fight between settlers for the occupation of indigenous lands during the conflict.
