    Hammon and Chavis maintained that God would eventually end injustice. Chavis believed all that could be done was to make the best of a bad bargain. He believed that immediate emancipation would be to entail the greatest earthly curse upon his brethren according to the flesh. Allen, Jones, Hall, and Forten believed that the American Revolution would prevail if black people insisted on liberty. Halls strategy was that white authority would reward black protest and patriotism. Allen & Jones were up for separate black institutions willing petition.
