    Explanation:

    When a court makes a decision on a case it sets a precedent to the lower courts and the same court. When a similar case appears in a lower court which is similar to the decided case in terms of facts and question of law the lower courts can follow the precedent.

    This system doesn't mean that a precedent once set remains unchanged for ever.

    The same court that set the precedent can overrule its decision and set a new precedent.
