In South America, all active volcanoes are located in the Andes Mountain Range.

They cluster in three specific areas:

Southern Colombia, and Northern and Central Ecuador, some of the volcanoes are: Nevado del Ruiz, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. Southern Peru and Northern Chile, some volcanoes in this area are: Ojos del Salado and Misti. Southern Chile, some volcanoes in this area are: Villarica Volcano and Osorno Volcano.
