    The wars of Carthage resulted in the defeat of Carthage and Rome took over Carthage.

    Explanation:

    First, second and third Punic wars were fought between Rome and Carthage. Rome had a powerful army while its naval forces weren't that strong. The case of Carthage was just the opposite. They had a strong navy while its army was weak.

    First Punic War was fought between 264 and 241 BC. The second Pnic War was fought between 218 and 201 BC and the third Punic War was fought between 149 and 146 BC. The the wars of Carthage resulted in the victory of Rome and the Carthagian settlements were taken over by Romans and they became the masters of the Western Mediterranean.
