    Lucius Cornelius Scipio, son of Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus, was a Roman consul and censor. He was consul of Rome during the First Punic War, between Ancient Carthage and the Roman Republic. In 259 BCE, as consul he was able to capture the Island of Corsica and Aléria, a city on the island. He also dedicated a temple to Tempestates, the goddess of storms, near the Porta Capena in Rome.
