In the year 1790 Whiskey Tax was formulated by then-Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton for the federal government to take over that debt.

    Explanation:

To prevent further financial difficulty the first secretary of the treasury Mr. Alexander Hamilton joined George Washington in the field to control the rebellion. The Hamilton has introduced this excise tax on distilled spirits to increase the income and intern to pay the national debt.

President George Washington was against the imposition of tax and he had contradicted with Hamilton's suggestion of a whiskey tax. In 1792, Hamilton issued a public statement warning the farmers who refused to pay the tax. This announcement failed, and the whiskey rebels started destroying the properties of the government establishments.
