    The declaration of Independence was given by Thomas Jefferson in 1776. The idea in the Declaration of Independence created a new national identity that united colonists behind a core set of beliefs and set the new nation apart from other countries throughout the world.

    Apart from that it established new principles of freedom, liberty and property. The American citizens were now getting aware of the human rights. And revolted against the unjust government that denied their rights.
