    Explanation: The 2008 election saw the first African-American ever to be elected president in Barack Obama, saw the first Roman-Catholic ever to serve as Vice-President, saw the highest voters turnout since 1908, it achieved the record voters turnout for blacks and Hispanics, Obama, also raised the more money in the 2008 election than anyone in history, all these proved that the US society at large, were more accepting to a different paradigm, they were more accepting to the idea of a First African American President, which has never happened or thought of in the its history beforehand.
