    Elliss island was one of the locations that was used as a immigartion station.

    Explanation:

    It was important at the turn of the century because it was a way for immigrants to enter through to the united states. Many of the immigrants, came from the european area, and they wanted to get away from germany. During wwi and ww2 is was used to detain prisioners from the war.
