    The battles that I choose are the Battle of California, and the Chapultepec Castle, in Mexico City.

    The historical newspaper headlines for a U. S. newspaper whose editors agreed with manifest destiny would be this one:

    "Fulfilling Our Manifested Destiny, the US takes over the California territory.

    The second headline for a newspaper in Mexico would be: "Ferocius defense by the Mexican cadets was not enough. The US entered the Castle."

    The US Army was more prepared than the Mexican Army in those battles. And in the case of the Chapultepec Castle Battle, it was defended by young Mexican cadets that had no experience at all to face the experimented American troops. In a matter of hours, the Castle had fallen.
