How did the enlightenment thinkers impact the political thought of the colonist

    The colonist settle in the Eastern side of the United States. These were known as New England, Middle Colonies and Southern Colonies. During this time, colonies had tensions with the Mother Country known as Great Britain. The colonist did not like the way how Great Britain passed laws without their representation. It was "Taxation without Representation". The enlightenment thinkers influenced the American Revolution. It influenced the 13 colonies to break away from Great Britain, because they believe all man were born with natural rights.
