The Reformation was the religious movement that went against the Catholic church. The Reformation started when a man named Martin Luther started to question the Catholic Church the more he studied the Bible. He expressed how he thought the Catholic Church was wrong and he started to gain followers. Obviously the Church was not happy with this and kicked him out. This ended up splitting the Catholic Church in half and lead to numerous wars including the Thirty Years War.
