Explanation:

It was an act of US congress meant for preventing the unauthorized possession of firearms in school zones. It applied to parochial, private and public schools and distance of 1000 feet around the school and no private property. Senator Herb Kohl of Wisconsin introduced this law in February 1990 and it was integrated into the Crime Control Act of 1990, President George H. Bush signed it into law. The Supreme court of the US held the Act as an unconstitutional exercise of congressional authority under the commerce clause of the US constitution.
